South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting North Laurel Jaguars (London, KY), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals confront the Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 16. South Laurel will attempt to better on its 7-3 season record.

The Jaguars now have a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host Whitley County for a District 49 challenge on Thursday, September 14. North Laurel will confront a Colonels team coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Casey County (Liberty, KY). The Colonels record now stands at 7-2.
