The Laney Buccaneers held off the host Ashley Screaming Eagle volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Monday's non-league test.
The Buccaneers now have a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host New Hanover for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 12. Laney will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-4.
The Screaming Eagle (3-5) will now prepare for their test against Hoggard (Wilmington, NC). The Vikings enter the non-league test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Hoggard was nudged by Topsail (Hampstead, NC), 2-0, in a non-league test.
