In Monday's non-league battle, the host Payson Longhorns soccer squad scored a close 1-0 triumph over the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets.
The Longhorns (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against Red Rock (Sedona, AZ). The Scorpions come into the 2A - Central bout with a 5-0 record. In their last bout, Red Rock tipped Leading Edge Academy - GEC (Gilbert, AZ), 13-1, in a league bout.
In their next game, the Yellow Jackets battle the Show Low Cougars (Show Low, AZ) in a 2A - East bout, on Thursday, September 14. Blue Ridge will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Cougars enter the bout with a 5-3 record after their 5-0 non-league loss to Red Rock (Sedona, AZ).
