The Tornadoes go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Piney Woods lost 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Mississippi School for the Deaf (Jackson, MS)

The Tigers now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Scott Central for a Class 2 Region 5 bout on Tuesday, September 12. Newton will play a Rebels squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Lake (Lake, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 0-8.
