Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Hendersonville Bearcats (Hendersonville, NC) and the host R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), saw Hendersonville's soccer squad hold off R-S Central by a score of 4-3.

The Bearcats (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Wolverines enter the non-league battle with a 5-2 record. In their last battle, Polk County was edged by Patton (Morganton, NC), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Hilltoppers confront the Brevard Blue Devils (Brevard, NC) in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A battle, on Monday, September 16. R-S Central will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Blue Devils enter the battle with a 7-2 record after their 4-0 league win over East Rutherford (Forest City, NC).
