In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host St. Mary Eagles volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Northern Michigan Christian Comets.

The Eagles (6-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Onekama (Onekama, MI). The Portagers enter the non-league challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Onekama got by Glen Lake (Maple City, MI), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Comets meet the Pine River Area Bucks (Leroy, MI) in a Highland challenge, on Tuesday, September 17. Northern Michigan Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 9-2 season record. The Bucks enter the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Hesperia (Hesperia, MI).
