Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC), 2-1 in a non-league outing.

The Bulldogs now have a 10-1 record. They play next when they host Hopewell for a non-league outing on Monday, September 15. Butler will play a Titans team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Hough (Cornelius, NC). The Titans record now stands at 2-9.

With the loss, Independence drops to 3-3 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Eagles in a non-league game on Tuesday, September 16. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 4-8. East Mecklenburg lost 2-0 in their recent non-league game against Palisades (Charlotte, NC)
