In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Monticello Mustangs volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Orange County Fighting Hornets.

The Mustangs (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA). The Warriors go into the non-league test with a 4-0 record. In their last test, Western Albemarle gained a win over Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Fighting Hornets now sport a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Albemarle for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 16. Orange County will face a Patriots squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Louisa County (Mineral, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 5-0.
