The Douglas County West Falcon (Valley, NE) softball nipped the visiting Fort Calhoun Pioneers (Fort Calhoun, NE), 14-13 in Thursday's league outing.

The Falcon now sport a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wahoo for a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 16. Douglas County West will encounter a Warriors team coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Nebraska City (Nebraska City, NE). The Warriors record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Fort Calhoun moves to 6-3 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Cass (Louisville, NE) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league test on Saturday, September 13. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 3-10. Cass won 11-3 in their recent non-league test against Syracuse (Syracuse, NE)
