Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Amory Panthers (Amory, MS) and the host Houston Hilltoppers (Houston, MS), observed Amory's volleyball team top Houston by a count of 3-1.

The Panthers (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against Mooreville (Mooreville, MS). The Troopers go into the Class 4A Region 2 battle with a 8-6 record.

The Hilltoppers now own a 1-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Shannon for a Class 4A Region 2 battle on Tuesday, September 16. Houston will encounter a Red Raiders squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Baldwyn (Baldwyn, MS). The Red Raiders record now stands at 2-12.
