Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings (Decorah, IA), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Osage (Osage, IA). The Green Devils come into the non-league challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Osage beat North Butler (Greene, IA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Vikings meet the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA) in a Northeast Iowa challenge, on Tuesday, September 16. Decorah-North Winneshiek will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Go-Hawks come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to St. Ansgar (St. Ansgar, IA).
