Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Greenville Hornets (Greenville, MS) and the host North Side Gators (Shelby, MS), observed Greenville's volleyball team notch a victory over North Side by a score of 3-1.

With the win, Greenville improves its record to 6-5 on the season. The Hornets host Canton (Canton, MS) to encounter the Tigers in a Class 6A Region 2 battle on Tuesday, September 16. The Tigers go into the battle with a record of 4-6. Canton lost 3-2 in their recent league battle against Callaway (Jackson, MS)

The Gators now own a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they host J.Z. George for a Class 2A Region 3 contest on Monday, September 15. North Side will meet a Jaguars team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Leflore County (Itta Bena, MS). The Jaguars record now stands at 5-6.
