North Carolina High School Volleyball - New Hanover overwhelmed by Laney

September 11, 2025: Wilmington, NC 28401

Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC), 3-0 in a league test.

With the win, Laney improves its record to 3-8 on the season. The Buccaneers host North Brunswick (Leland, NC) to face the Scorpions in a Carolina Coast 6A/7A test on Tuesday, September 16. The Scorpions come into the challenge with a record of 5-7.

In their next game, the Wildcats face the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a non-league test, on Monday, September 15. New Hanover will attempt to advance on its 5-8 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 5-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Whiteville (Whiteville, NC).
