Newnan Cougars (Newnan, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting East Paulding Raiders (Dallas, GA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Paulding for a 6A Region 5 challenge on Thursday, September 14. Newnan will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Alexander (Douglasville, GA). The Spartans record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, East Paulding falls to 15-3 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to New Manchester (Douglasville, GA) to battle the Jaguar in a 6A Region 5 challenge on Thursday, September 14. The Jaguar enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. New Manchester lost 17-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Lithia Springs (Lithia Springs, GA)
