The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 14 runs and limited the visiting St. Francis Knights to 5 in the Mustangs league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Mount Vernon moves its record to 12-4 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Whitefield Academy (Mableton, GA) to clash with the WolfPack in a 1A D-I Region 6 game on Thursday, September 14. The WolfPack come into the game with a record of 4-5. Whitefield Academy won 18-2 in their recent league game against Galloway (Atlanta, GA)

In their next game, the Knights clash with the King's Ridge Christian Tigers (Alpharetta, GA) in a 1A D-I Region 6 game, on Thursday, September 14. St. Francis will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record. The Tigers come into the game with a 3-4 record after their 13-7 league loss to St. Francis (Alpharetta, GA).
