The Gates County Red Barons volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Washington County Panthers to 0 in the Red Barons league victory on Tuesday.

The Red Barons (3-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Perquimans (Hertford, NC). The Pirates enter the Four Rivers 1A challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Perquimans went down by J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Panthers encounter the Tarboro Vikings (Tarboro, NC) in a Four Rivers 1A challenge, on Thursday, September 14. Washington County will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Vikings enter the challenge with a 0-8 record after their 3-0 league loss to Perquimans (Hertford, NC).
