Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Narragansett Mariners (Narragansett, RI) and the host Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI), saw Narragansett's soccer squad hold off Rogers by a count of 2-1.

The Mariners (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Classical (Providence, RI). The Purple enter the Division 3 battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Classical was edged by Burrillville (Harrisville, RI), 5-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Vikings battle the Tiverton Tigers (Tiverton, RI) in a non-league battle, on Monday, September 16. Rogers will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 1-2 record after their 8-0 league win over Davies Career & Tech (Lincoln, RI).
