In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host South Mecklenburg Sabres volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves.

The Sabres (5-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Myers Park (Charlotte, NC). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 6-4 record. In their last challenge, Myers Park edged Berry (Charlotte, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Wolves play the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 17. Ballantyne Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record.
