Belfast Lions (Belfast, ME) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Maine Central Institute Huskies (Pittsfield, ME), 8-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Belfast advances its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Erskine Academy (South China, ME) to clash with the Eagles in a Class B - North test on Tuesday, September 17. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 1-2. Erskine Academy lost 4-1 in their recent league test against Oceanside (Rockland, ME)

The Huskies now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Bucksport for a Class C - North test on Monday, September 16. Maine Central Institute will clash with a Golden Bucks team coming off a 7-3 league loss to Orono (Orono, ME). The Golden Bucks record now stands at 0-3.
