Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Hand Tigers (Madison, CT) and the host Wilbur Cross Governors (New Haven, CT), saw Hand's soccer squad hold off Wilbur Cross by a count of 2-1.
The Tigers (3-0) will now prepare for their battle against Guilford (Guilford, CT). The Grizzlies enter the non-league battle with a 5-0 record. In their last battle, Guilford tipped Fairfield Prep (Fairfield, CT), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Governors battle the Fairfield Prep Jesuits (Fairfield, CT) in a Southern Connecticut - Hammonasset battle, on Tuesday, September 17. Wilbur Cross will attempt to upgrade on its 5-1 season record. The Jesuits enter the battle with a 3-2 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Hall (West Hartford, CT).
