Match Summary
The passing line passed, the setter set, the hitters hit. The servers served tough & the defense stood tall. There wasn't a single part of the Lake Balboa College Prep game that was deficient in a convincing 3 set sweep of Alliance MIT in the Cougadome. The Ladies of the Lake played smart & in system. LBCP cracked off 29 kills led by their outside hitters Molly Yeagley (7 kills, .313) & Darla Wiltz (5 kills, .400). The Cougar offense rained 22 aces on the Griffins led by Oppo Athena Orujyan (9) & Captain Wiltz with 6. Not only did Darla attack, she sparkled on D with 13 digs & a stellar season high 3.75 passing average on the 5 point USA VB passing scale. The entire passing line was on fire charting at 2.71 . After the anthem & booming intros, Lake Balboa came out smokin' & won with alacrity starting hot & never looking back. The Cougars did sag a little trailing in the early stages of set 3 before hitting the afterburners to run down & pull away from Alliance. Bravo & well done!
