The Rio Mesa Spartans edged the visiting Buena Bulldogs volleyball squad by a final score of 3-2 in Thursday's league game.

Next up, the Spartans confront the Ventura Cougars (Ventura, CA) in a Channel game, on Tuesday, September 17. Rio Mesa will attempt to advance on its 6-10 season record. The Cougars go into the game with a 7-10 record after their 3-1 league loss to San Marcos (Santa Barbara, CA).

The Bulldogs (1-8) will now prepare for their game against Oxnard (Oxnard, CA). The Yellowjackets go into the Channel game with a 4-10 record. In their last game, Oxnard was edged by Thousand Oaks (Thousand Oaks, CA), 3-0, in a non-league game.
