Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), 3-2 in a league test.

With the win, Elkin improves its record to 1-11 on the season. The Buckin' Elks travel to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC) to encounter the Eagles in a non-league test on Monday, September 16. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 4-8. Wilkes Central lost 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)

The Granite Bears now own a 3-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Surry for a non-league test on Monday, September 16. Mount Airy will encounter a Cardinals squad coming off a 3-0 league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 10-2.
