The Rhea County Golden Eagles (Evensville, TN) volleyball held off the host McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN), 3-2 in Thursday's league bout.

The Golden Eagles now possess a 11-13 record. They play next when they travel to LaFayette for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 14. Rhea County will clash with a Ramblers team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Sonoraville (Calhoun, GA). The Ramblers record now stands at 16-10.

With the loss, McMinn County drops to 1-8 on the campaign. The Cherokees travel to Cumberland County (Crossville, TN) to clash with the Jets in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 14. The Jets come into the bout with a record of 19-5. Cumberland County won 3-2 in their recent league bout against Upperman (Baxter, TN)
