Hillsboro Hawks (Hillsboro, MO) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball team tip the visiting Kirkwood Pioneers (Kirkwood, MO), 5-1 in a non-league match.

The Hawks (2-4) will now prepare for their match against Farmington (Farmington, MO). The Knights come into the Class 3 District 2 match with a 0-3 record.

In their next game, the Pioneers confront the Southern Boone Eagles (Ashland, MO) in a non-league match, on Saturday, September 13. Kirkwood will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 7-0 record after their 12-8 non-league win over Hickman (Columbia, MO).
