Fans at Friday's league contest between the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) and the host Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), observed Lubbock-Cooper's volleyball team top Lubbock by a count of 3-0.

The Pirates (16-8) will now prepare for their contest against Tascosa (Amarillo, TX). The Rebels enter the 5A Region I District 3 contest with a 17-9 record. In their last contest, Tascosa was knocked off by Amarillo (Amarillo, TX), 3-1, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Westerners encounter the Palo Duro Dons (Amarillo, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 test, on Tuesday, September 16. Lubbock will attempt to improve on its 3-22 season record. The Dons go into the test with a 3-9 record after their 3-0 league loss to Coronado (Lubbock, TX).
