Durango Demons (Durango, CO) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO), 14-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Demons now sport a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Delta for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 16. Durango will face a Panthers squad coming off a 15-4 league win over Gunnison (Gunnison, CO). The Panthers record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Montezuma-Cortez falls to 8-1 on the campaign. The Panthers host Aspen (Aspen, CO) to face the Skiers in a 3A Western Slope challenge on Friday, September 16. The Skiers enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. Aspen lost 26-5 in their recent league challenge against Basalt (Basalt, CO)
