Oglethorpe County Patriots (Lexington, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jasper County Hurricanes (Monticello, GA), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Social Circle for a 1A D-I Region 5 challenge on Thursday, September 15. Oglethorpe County will face a Redskins squad coming off a 1-0 league loss to Prince Avenue Christian (Athens, GA). The Redskins record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Jasper County falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Hurricanes host Putnam County (Eatonton, GA) to face the War Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 14. The War Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Putnam County lost 16-12 in their recent league challenge against Washington County (Sandersville, GA)
