Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Oconee County Warriors (Watkinsville, GA), 4-0 in a league challenge.

The Purple Hurricanes now own a 7-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hebron Christian Academy for a 3A Region 8 contest on Thursday, September 15. Monroe Area will play a Lions team coming off a 5-3 league loss to Franklin County (Carnesville, GA). The Lions record now stands at 7-7.

In their next game, the Warriors play the Morgan County Bulldogs (Madison, GA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, September 14. Oconee County will attempt to move on its 5-11 season record. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a 11-4 record after their 10-0 non-league win over Monroe Area (Monroe, GA).
