Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) supporters left the game in high spirits Wednesday as they observed their volleyball squad top the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), 2-0 in a non-league match.

Next up, the Pioneers battle the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a match, on Monday, September 18. Watauga will attempt to advance on its 7-2 season record. The Cougars come into the match with a 6-3 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Foard (Newton, NC).

With the loss, South Caldwell drops to 3-3 on the campaign. The Spartans host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to battle the Patriots in a non-league match on Monday, September 18. The Patriots come into the match with a record of 2-8. Freedom lost 2-0 in their recent non-league match against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)
