The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Brentwood War Eagles (Sandersville, GA) and the visiting Edmund Burke Academy Spartans (Waynesboro, GA), saw Brentwood's softball squad nip Edmund Burke Academy by a count of 5-2.

The War Eagles now sport a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they host Gatewood for a GIAA 2AA match on Thursday, September 14. Brentwood will face a Gators squad coming off a 4-1 non-league win over First Presbyterian Day (Macon, GA). The Gators record now stands at 7-7.

With the loss, Edmund Burke Academy falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Spartans host Piedmont Academy (Monticello, GA) to face the Cougars in a GIAA 2AA match on Thursday, September 14. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 8-4. Piedmont Academy won 15-0 in their recent non-league match against Trinity Christian (Dublin, GA)
