The Deweyville Pirates volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the visiting Kountze Lions to 0 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Friday.

The Pirates now have a 5-7 record. They play next when they host Kelly Catholic for a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 17.

With the loss, Kountze drops to 6-14 on the campaign. The Lions host Orangefield (Orangefield, TX) to play the Bobcats in a 3A Region III District 22 outing on Tuesday, September 17. The Bobcats come into the outing with a record of 19-10. Orangefield won 3-1 in their recent league outing against East Chambers (Winnie, TX)
