In Saturday's league challenge, the visiting Baraga Vikings volleyball team scored a close 1-0 triumph over the Ontonagon Gladiators.

The Vikings (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Lake Linden-Hubbell (Lake Linden, MI). The Lakes come into the non-league challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Lake Linden-Hubbell edged Bessemer (Bessemer, MI), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Gladiators meet the Stephenson Eagles (Stephenson, MI) in a non-league test, on Saturday, September 13. Ontonagon will attempt to advance on its 5-6 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 0-7 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to West Iron County (Iron River, MI).
