The Gaston Greyhounds (Gaston, OR) volleyball held off the visiting Vernonia Loggers (Vernonia, OR), 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Greyhounds now possess a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Nestucca for a 2A Northwest bout on Tuesday, September 16. Gaston will clash with a Bobcats team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Clatskanie (Clatskanie, OR). The Bobcats record now stands at 3-6.
The Loggers (1-7) will now prepare for their match against Days Creek (Days Creek, OR). The Wolves enter the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Days Creek was tipped by Rogue Valley Adventist (Medford, OR), 3-1, in a non-league match.
