The Mitchell County Eagles topped the visiting Sumter County Panthers volleyball team by a score of 3-1 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Eagles now have a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Stewart County for a 1A Area 1 test on Thursday, September 15. Mitchell County will confront a Royal Knights team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Early County (Blakely, GA). The Royal Knights record now stands at 1-2.

The Panthers (2-10) will now prepare for their test against Jordan (Columbus, GA). The Red Jackets enter the 2A Area 2 test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Jordan gained a win over Kendrick (Columbus, GA), 2-0, in a league test.
