Mount Abram Roadrunners (Strong, ME) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Roadrunners face the Buckfield Bucks (Buckfield, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, September 18. Mount Abram will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Bucks enter the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 8-1 non-league win over Spruce Mountain (Jay, ME).

The Phoenix now have a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they host Hall-Dale for a Class C - South challenge on Monday, September 18. Spruce Mountain will face a Bulldogs team coming off a 5-0 league loss to Mountain Valley (Rumford, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-2.
