The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA) and the visiting Tunstall Trojans (Dry Fork, VA), saw Bassett's volleyball squad nip Tunstall by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Bassett upgrades its record to 2-5 on the year. The Bengals travel to Halifax County (South Boston, VA) to play the Comets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 19. The Comets go into the bout with a record of 5-5. Halifax County won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA)

The Trojans now own a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Chatham for a non-league bout on Monday, September 18. Tunstall will play a Cavaliers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Nelson County (Lovingston, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 3-3.
