The Clayton Comets held off the visiting Corinth Holders Pirates volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Comets now have a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cleveland for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 19. Clayton will confront a Rams team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over South Garner (Garner, NC). The Rams record now stands at 8-2.

The Pirates (10-2) will now prepare for their test against Garner (Garner, NC). The Trojans enter the non-league test with a 8-4 record. In their last test, Garner held off Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, NC), 2-0, in a league test.
