In Thursday's league battle, the host Heritage Hurricanes volleyball team scored a 4-1 triumph over the Gloucester Dukes.

The Hurricanes (3-4) will now prepare for their battle against St. John's (Washington, DC). The Cadets come into the non-league battle with a 4-0 record. In their last battle, St. John's achieved victory over Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Dukes encounter the Woodside Wolverines (Newport News, VA) in a Peninsula battle, on Tuesday, September 19. Gloucester will attempt to advance on its 3-5 season record. The Wolverines come into the battle with a 9-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Norcom (Portsmouth, VA).
