The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Russell County Warriors (Seale, AL) and the host Smiths Station Panthers (Smiths, AL), saw Russell County's volleyball squad nip Smiths Station by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Russell County upgrades its record to 5-4 on the year. The Warriors travel to Eufaula (Eufaula, AL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, September 18. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 11-2. Eufaula lost 3-0 in their recent league bout against Beauregard (Opelika, AL)

The Panthers now own a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Opelika for a 7A Area 4 bout on Tuesday, September 19. Smiths Station will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Opp (Opp, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-7.
