In Thursday's league battle, the host Salem Academy Crusaders volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Western Christian Pioneers.

The Crusaders (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against Gervais (Gervais, OR). The Cougars come into the 2A Tri-River battle with a 1-5 record. In their last battle, Gervais lost by Salem Academy (Salem, OR), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Pioneers clash with the Yamhill-Carlton Tigers (Yamhill, OR) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 16. Western Christian will attempt to advance on its 6-1 season record. The Tigers come into the battle with a 4-5 record after their 3-1 league loss to Corbett (Corbett, OR).
