Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) supporters left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad top the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 3-1 in a league match.

Next up, the Gryphons battle the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A match, on Tuesday, September 19. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to advance on its 4-8 season record. The Ironmen come into the match with a 6-8 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC).

With the loss, Shelby drops to 2-8 on the campaign. The Golden lions host Burns (Lawndale, NC) to battle the Bulldogs in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A match on Tuesday, September 19. The Bulldogs come into the match with a record of 2-9.
