The Elk River Elks soccer squad scored 5 points and held the host Moorhead Spuds to 1 in the Elks non-league victory on Saturday.

The Elks now hold a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to Anoka for a non-league bout on Monday, September 16. Elk River will play a Tornadoes squad coming off a 4-0 league loss to Centennial (Circle Pines, MN). The Tornadoes record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Moorhead moves to 3-7 on the year. The Spuds travel to St. Michael-Albertville (Albertville, MN) to play the Knights in a Class AA Section 8 bout on Monday, September 16.
