The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Niwot Cougars (Niwot, CO) and the host Mead Mavericks (Longmont, CO), observed Niwot's softball team notch a victory over Mead by a tally of 14-4.

The Cougars (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against Monarch (Louisville, CO). The Coyotes go into the non-league bout with a 10-0 record. In their last bout, Monarch gained a win over Poudre (Fort Collins, CO), 22-3, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Mavericks battle the Erie Tigers (Erie, CO) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, September 19. Mead will attempt to advance on its 0-4 season record.
