In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting L'Anse Purple Hornets volleyball team scored a close 1-0 triumph over the Ontonagon Gladiators.

The Purple Hornets (5-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Chassell (Chassell, MI). The Panthers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, Chassell was nudged by Baraga (Baraga, MI), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Gladiators play the Chassell Panthers (Chassell, MI) in a Freelance challenge, on Saturday, September 14. Ontonagon will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Baraga (Baraga, MI).
