New Mexico High School Soccer - Albuquerque Academy nudges Sandia

September 15, 2022: Albuquerque, NM 87110

Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Chargers face the Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, September 20. Albuquerque Academy will attempt to better on its 4-3 season record. The Vikings come into the test with a 2-8 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM).

With the loss, Sandia drops to 6-3 on the season. The Matadors travel to Hobbs (Hobbs, NM) to meet the Eagles in a non-league test on Saturday, September 17. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 3-5. Hobbs 1-1 in their recent non-league test against Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM)
