The Ashe County Huskies football team (West Jefferson, NC), was ripped 49-12 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC)

The Pioneers (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, South Caldwell was ripped by Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 37-32, in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alexander Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, September 29. Ashe County will meet a Cougars team coming off a 20-14 non-league win over Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 3-2.
