Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) and the visiting Stephens County Indians (Toccoa, GA), witnessed Franklin County's softball squad tip Stephens County by a count of 8-1.

The Lions now sport a 14-5 record. They play next when they host Monroe Area for a 3A Region 8 match on Tuesday, September 20. Franklin County will face a Purple Hurricanes squad coming off a 8-3 league win over Hebron Christian Academy (Dacula, GA). The Purple Hurricanes record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Stephens County moves to 7-11 on the season. The Indians travel to Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA) to face the Warriors in a 3A Region 8 match on Tuesday, September 20. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 6-12. Oconee County won 14-7 in their recent league match against Hart County (Hartwell, GA)
