The Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) volleyball were winner over the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), 3-1 in Thursday's league outing.

With the win, Bland County betters its record to 7-2 on the year. The Bears travel to Grayson County (Independence, VA) to face the Blue Devils in a Mountain Empire outing on Monday, September 19. The Blue Devils go into the outing with a record of 4-4. Grayson County won 3-1 in their recent league outing against Galax (Galax, VA)

The Maroons now sport a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Graham for a non-league outing on Monday, September 19. George Wythe will face a G-Men squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The G-Men record now stands at 2-5.
