In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Huntington Highlanders volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Nitro Wildcats.

The Highlanders (11-6) will now prepare for their battle against Capital (Charleston, WV). The Cougars come into the Mountain State battle with a 3-8 record. In their last battle, Capital lost by Spring Valley (Huntington, WV), 2-0, in a league battle.
